OTT pastel nails & why I love fakes...

I'm getting braver about materials! I'm actually really frugal and, while I want to wear ALL the nail deco, I don't want to have to throw the cuteness away after wearing it and removing. (Most bits don't hold up too well.) But if I do the fakes then I can wear them over and over. Or until I snag one on my hair or jeans! LOL Another plus to fakes is that I only have to apply a PITA polish once. Srsly, I own so many that are just horrible by nature (whites, glitter you have to fish for, etc...My nail homies know!) They're all gorgeous but I really have to psych myself into the application process- especially with the way ALL polish (and basecoats and strengtheners) peel off after a few hours. Something with my body chemistry in the last year...
So those are reasons I rock the fake nail sets more often than not these days!

Mochithings...

 Last week I ordered a few office supplies from mochithings.com in Seattle. I don't even remember how I discovered the sight but I only found it recently. They have a huge assortment of cutely designed home and office items.

Here are my goodies:

Squishable love...

Love stuffed animals (or pancakes or teacups or tentacly Old Gods?) Love GIANT stuffed...stuff? If you haven't seen Squishables, well, you have my pity. But get to it!! Go to squishable.com right. Now. I've admired them for YEARS but have never been able to justify purchasing a huge stuffed beast. (They offer minis but really, part of the novelty is the sheer size.) Nor could I decide on just one anyway. Hedgehog? Narwhal?

And then I saw him. The Squishable Yeti. Yes.

Partly as a challenge to a relative who hates giving gift cards and hassles me when I say that's all I can think of, I said, "Hey, I finally thought of a 'thing' I want for Christmas...a stuffed yeti! I'll even give a second choice in case the yeti sells out...Arctic Fox." Booyah! How ya like that for an actual thing you can buy an adult relative? I might add she's pretty conservative and doesn't tend to shop outside her comfort zone of, like, housewares. (I did score a sweet vacuum cleaner from her several years back when I got my first single-mom apartment though, so don't think I'm ungrateful!!)

Whaddaya know...holy buhjeebuhmuhs...

I brought BOTH of these guys home from Texas!! I internally took back EVERYTHING I'd ever thought of her uptight gifting believe me LOL. How sweet on so many levels!!

They are even squishier and softer than I'd imagined. Offspring is seriously eyeballing the arctic fox, but I'm all hay-ell no, boy! (Don't think him deprived. He has bushels of stuffed animals AND has plenty of Christmas dough saved. He can buy a Squishable for himself LOL.)

If I lived in my Dream House (I love my boyfriend, but refuse to stop imagining a solo dream house of my very own!) I'd totally get Narwhal and Seal (harp) too and just leave them on couches as throw pillows!

Holiday travels...

I'm so excited over the fact that the Offspring and I got to spend most of his winter break in Texas with family! We haven't visited in winter for, oh, seven years? Anyway, we had a blast with aunts and uncles and tons of cousins.
As always Mom and I did serious shopping- even if we're getting older and "shop 'till you drop" isn't so much of a joke now. Ha! I have much to tell about everywhere we went so more posts to come. But here're a little about the pics above...

Stylin'...

I'm a total control freak about my environment ESPECIALLY what's on myself, so I get in what many people would call style ruts but what I just call the Anna-form.

The past few years it's all been kawaii graphic tees, jeans and dessert-themed or 80's jewelry. I do like huge wedge heels but usually I wear flip-flops or Uggs. Pretty much casual/sporty-kawaii.

Now I've transitioned into giant tops and skinny jeans- soooo comfy!

Let me just say, Japanese styles are rocking my world. I've become a total Rakuten shopaholic.

I'm obsessing on about half the dolman/batwing tops on Rakuten! Srsly, I cannot find anything like these in the States. (I don't actually have the pink one yet but it's on its way.)They are so huge and baggy that they even *look* huge on me- success! If you're reading this and want to share, is there anything style-wise you LOVE but can't get in your area? I'd love to hear...

One go-to eye look...

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof10 Auto Liner~ BR403
Etude House Tear Drop Liner~ #1 White Tear
Maybelline The Rocket mascara~ Very Black
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love love love these eye staples! When I want easy-going neutral but with a little pick-me-up of sparkle this is it. The liquid tear liner takes some fiddling with- I had to experiment a bit, but I'm getting it where it looks good now. Since it has sparkle I don't want to actually line the inner rim but I try to get it as close to my lashes as possible.
